In the Star Trek franchise, most stories center around experienced, battle-hardened officers. Whether it’s Captain Kirk, Picard, or Sisko, these figures represent the best and brightest Starfleet has to offer. Star Trek: Prodigy turns this idea on its head by focusing on young characters who aren’t yet fully formed. The show critiques the traditional adult-centered narrative by showing that the younger generation can offer just as much wisdom, compassion, and innovation as their older counterparts.
