The Great Wall is one of the most awe-inspiring structures on Earth, but the Badaling section near Beijing is notoriously crowded and touristy, detracting from the experience. The vendors, the noise, and the sheer number of visitors can make it difficult to appreciate the Wall’s true grandeur.

Alternative: Hike the less crowded Mutianyu or Jinshanling sections, which offer more peaceful and scenic views.
