Known as the spiritual capital of India, Varanasi is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Situated on the banks of the Ganges River, it’s believed that dying here offers liberation (moksha). The city’s temples, ghats (steps leading to the river), and the Ganges are a spiritual focal point for millions of Hindus.
