As the leaves begin to change and a crisp chill fills the air, it’s time to adjust our daily routines… Here’s how to create the perfect fall morning routine! 

Our bodies are intimately attuned to nature’s rhythms, influenced by the changing light and the shifting seasons. Just as trees prepare for winter by shedding their leaves, we, too, need to adapt our routines to the autumn months. 

Think about it – in summer, we’re all about outdoor adventures and soaking up the sun. But as fall arrives, there’s a natural pull towards coziness, warm drinks, and contemplative moments. 

Our energy shifts, and we crave more rest and indoor comforts. This isn’t just a feeling – it’s backed by science. Research has shown that our bodies respond to seasonal changes, affecting everything from our sleep patterns to our food preferences (as evidenced by studies on seasonal effects on human behaviour and physiology). 

Today, I’m excited to share a fall morning routine to help you start your autumn days with warmth, intention, and a touch of seasonal magic.

#1 Embrace the Later Sunrise

Embrace the Later Sunrise

Autumn calls for a gentler approach, while I'm usually an early bird. As the days grow shorter, allow yourself to rise a bit later than your summer schedule - and that's perfectly okay.

If your work allows, try pushing your wake-up time by 30 minutes. Your body will appreciate the extra rest. If adjusting your morning isn't possible, focus on getting to bed earlier to ensure you're still getting enough sleep.

Remember, good sleep is crucial for your physical and mental well-being. Fall is nature's time for winding down - honour that rhythm.
